SCD12,SCD12,Comments from user about SCD12: Integration of the floating point unit first as a separate integrated circuit and then as part of the same microprocessor chip, speeded up floating point calculations. In principle, a single microarchitecture could execute several different ISAs with only minor changes to the microcode.
